A Love Letter of Sorts

Lyndal Cairns is a poet whose writing seeks to speak to the human experience through the laws of nature. Her work has been published in The Adriatic, Consilience, and others.

Her debut Planet-ish was a chapbook-length collection of love poems to Pluto the demoted planetoid. It explores themes of recognition, grief, and duty through the metaphors of astrophysics and Roman mythology. In fall, 2022, she published Where Oceans End, a wistful chapbook about what it means to love the tide.

Lyndal is currently working on a full-length book about loss and the beauty of the high desert.

The genius of her work is at the crossroads of feelings in their crudest state, and ironic and self-critical humor.
